The Challenge


An automotive manufacturing company was facing stiff competition from overseas suppliers and needed to cut waste out of its processes to become more competitive. The management had heard of Lean manufacturing however had not seriously investigated how "Lean" could help them maintain their global competitiveness.


The Solution


KAL Global started a "Lean" awareness program within the organisation. Each significant process was process mapped and waste was identified and eliminated from the manufacturing process. Lean was adopted at all levels of the firm including administration. The process was so successful that just the "low hanging fruit" projects yielded cost savings in the order of 30%.
